A view from the refuge
Ada draws the island and its harbour. With everyone around her worried, faces prove harder to capture than the sea. She keeps to herself at her refuge, unsure whether she knows anyone well enough to ask for help.
An invitation that matters
Marta sends the apprentice to see how Ada is doing. Listening gives Ada room to explain how she feels, and the invitation to a warm place at the inn offers her a way back into village life.

Where to find Ada
Ada starts in a clear meadow around the village square. After accepting shelter she walks to Marta's inn; the exact meadow spot is chosen from available clear ground.
