The fox as a first lesson
Elio teaches you to use Purify on an afflicted fox. The encounter makes the purpose of purification clear: you are learning how to save a creature.
Restoration and release
Afflicted creatures can be purified after they have been neutralised. Purification also plays a part in restoring and investigating ancient Arcane structures.

Where to find Purify
The first purification lesson takes place with the fox in Elio's practice yard. The ring shows the area near his house, not a fixed fox spawn.
